It all started 70 years ago in a workshop in Lower Rhine. Today, with over 3,500 employees and an annual turnover of more than 700 million euros, the Novoferm Group is one of the leading suppliers of door systems, door solutions and docking systems in Europe. In March 2025, Novoferm celebrated its 70th anniversary.

The company – then known as Isselwerk Werth GmbH – was founded in Lower Rhine on 10 March 1955. Growth occurred through technological development and strategic acquisitions. In addition to Schievano srl (1996), Alpha Deuren (Netherlands, 2014), Norsud (France, 2016), Robust AB (Sweden, 2019) and Manugestion (France, 2021) are worth mentioning. Novoferm has expanded its offering with innovative solutions: DC operators for industrial doors, NovoFire Steel steel doors, and Evolution sectional doors for private garages, with superior thermal insulation. In addition, it focuses on customized digital tools for industry professionals, improving efficiency, safety and operational processes.

In 2025, Novoferm celebrates its 70th anniversary with a new leadership: Christian Hasenest succeeds Rainer Schackmann as CEO.

As of this year, a 1 MW peak power photovoltaic system, fully installed on the roof of our industrial building, is fully operational. This new infrastructure represents an important step toward sustainability and a concrete commitment to reducing our environmental impact.

The system is capable of generating an annual amount of electricity that is essentially equivalent to our energy needs, thus making a tangible contribution to reducing the environmental impact of our production activities.

Thanks to this renewable energy production, we estimate an annual saving of approximately 250 tons of CO₂(*), avoiding greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional fossil fuel-based energy supply.

(*) The CO₂ savings estimate is based on data from the 2023 Italian national energy mix, in which each kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity consumed corresponded to an average emission of 0.256 kg of carbon dioxide.

The UE CSRD directive (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) imposes new obligations on companies and their supply chain.
 

1. Sustainability reporting obligation
 

The EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires companies to report on corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities.
 

CSRD reporting will be an integral part of the annual report of the annual financial statements and will be audited by the statutory auditors at the end of the year.

2. Supply Chain Due Diligence ( supply chain verification )
 

The European Union is preparing a standard that commits companies to conduct a supply chain analysis and assessment.
 

Novoferm Group suppliers will be required to upload information pertaining to five subject areas to the Integrity Next platform.

Novoferm reaches a new milestone: Environmental Product Certification CAM.

The CAM report describes how NOVOFERM's products comply with the relevant Minimum Environmental Criteria for Construction published on 6/08/2023.  

Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) are the environmental requirements defined for the various stages of the purchasing process, aimed at identifying the best design solution, product or service from an environmental point of view throughout the life cycle, taking into account market availability.

The report was developed with the support of QualityNet, a consultancy company specialising in sustainability-related certifications and compliance.

Novoferm cancels participation in BAU 2025 trade fair

Novoferm will not be exhibiting at BAU 2025. The company took this decision after careful consideration. As one of Europe's largest system suppliers of hinged door and garage door solutions as well as docking systems, the company has decided that in the future it will focus its resources even more on other communication formats, with the aim of reaching its target groups even more effectively. Customer feedback was the deciding factor.

Focus on more targeted approaches to customers
In the future, Novoferm will pursue new and more effective ways of communicating with our customers and presenting our products. Schackmann emphasises that "we will align our marketing strategies even more strongly with the customer's desire for a more individual approach and innovative formats".

“Customers can look forward to more intensive contact and individual dialogue via various platforms. For example, demand-driven presentation of our products and services at events characterised by experiences will take on a greater role.”

For presenting the digital service modules too, Novoferm also plans to adapt the type of communication even more towards our customers’ needs in order to present digital solutions in a targeted and holistic way right along the process chain - from sales to the construction site to after-sales service.

It aims to promote and develop a global approach to sustainability, recognizing virtuous performance in key areas of health human and environmental.

The LEED® standards, developed by the USGBC, indicate the requirements for constructing environmentally sustainable buildings, both from an energy point of view and from the point of view of the consumption of all environmental resources involved in the construction process.

Solidarity with Ukraine
At the Novoferm Group we are showing our solidarity on behalf of all our employees with the people in Ukraine who are currently having to endure inconceivable suffering because of the Russian war.
  

Our company shares the European values of peace, freedom and solidarity. After decades of peace in Europe, this war of aggression by Russia and the associated military aggression cuts deep for all of us. As a sign of our solidarity, we are currently not conducting any business relations or sales

activities with or in Russia / Belarus for as long as the war lasts. Furthermore, lots of activities have been organised jointly with our staff at Novoferm in recent weeks to support Ukraine.

Functionality and materials for interior design: Colour in rooms

The aim of the webinar is to provide participants with an update on how interiors are designed, and the main features related to the organisation of space will be presented. The focus of the course will be on new materials, new trends and the concept of design. Relevant case histories will be presented. We will deal with some neuroscientific theories capable of translating an innate feeling regarding the attraction of specific chromatic tones.

We will see how colour and material choices in environments can be guided by the characteristics of the space combined with the needs of the people who live in it, so as to transform the sensorial experience into a supporting tool for the well-being and comfort of the inhabitants.

Novoferm takes over French Manugestion Group
Rees, 2 November 2021. With the takeover of the Manugestion Group, Novoferm, one of the leading European system suppliers of door and docking solutions, is resolutely continuing to strengthen its position on the French market.

Within the Manugestion Group, Manuregion is a company established on the market which specialises in the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial doors and docking systems.

The business was founded in 1989, has 120 employees at seven sites in the north-east of France and generates an annual turnover of 25 million euros.

For Novoferm, the acquisition is an important step in the continuing expansion of the activities of the Novoferm Group across Europe. Manuregion has steadily grown in recent years as a result of its customer-focused range of services and has acquired a strong position in its catchment area.

Tutto questo andando a porre sotto una nuova luce tutte le figure della filiera che ruotano attorno al Codice di Prevenzione Incendi: dal professionista al tecnico manutentore.Il seminario, quindi, partendo dalle principali caratteristiche del Codice di Prevenzione Incendi, si pone l’obiettivo di approfondire i ruoli, le specificità e le responsabilità delle figure chiamate in causa.

Nel pomeriggio si tratterà la protezione dal fuoco che utilizza compartimentazioni resistenti al fuoco e materiali posti a protezione di elementi strutturali che hanno lo scopo di prevenire il collasso delle costruzioni per una durata prefissata, quando queste sono soggette a incendi. Il Ministero dell'Interno con la circolare n° 16746 del 6/11/2019 fa chiarezza sulle porte resistenti al fuoco ricadenti nel campo di applicazione del Regolamento (UE) n.305/2011 sui Prodotti da Costruzione (CPR). Dal 01/11/2019, terminato il periodo di coesistenza con la norma EN 16034:2014, le porte ricadenti nel campo di applicazione delle norme EN 14351-1:2006+A2:2016 ed EN 13241:2003+A2:2016 per le quali siano richiesti requisiti di resistenza al fuoco,

devono essere commercializzate in accordo alle procedure previste dal Regolamento Prodotti da Costruzione (marcatura CE e dichiarazione di prestazione). Le porte non ricadenti nel campo di applicazione delle specifiche tecniche armonizzate sopra scritte, per l’attestazione delle prestazioni di resistenza al fuoco, restano assoggettate al regime di omologazione in accordo alle procedure indicate nel D.M. 21/06/2004.

Novoferm rileva la svedese Robust AB e rafforza la sua posizione nei mercati scandinavi e britannici.
Novoferm sta costantemente espandendo la sua posizione come uno dei principali fornitori europei di porte e sistemi di docking: con l'acquisizione della società svedese Robust AB, il gruppo Novoferm ha rilevato uno dei principali produttori di porte in acciaio in Scandinavia e Gran Bretagna e rafforza la sua posizione in entrambi i mercati in modo sostenibile

L'acquisizione del 100% delle azioni della società di Robust AB è stata concordata a metà maggio.

Robust AB, con sede a Nykroppa, ha stabilimenti produttivi a Nykroppa, Svezia, Longton e Stoke-on-Trent nel Regno Unito. L'azienda impiega 175 persone ed è specializzata nella produzione di porte a battente in acciaio per protezione antincendio, multifunzioni e di sicurezza per il mercato industriale e commerciale. L'esperto team di gestione sotto la guida dell'Amministratore delegato David Lycett continuerà a guidare l'azienda e garantirà il suo successo nello sviluppo.

Il giorno 7 Novembre presso il CEN (European Committee for Standardisation) è stata resa disponibile la norma EN 14351-2:2018 “Windows and doors – Product standard, performance characteristics – Part 2: Internal pedestrian doorsets”, relativa alle porte interne.

La EN 14351-2:2018 identifica le caratteristiche di prestazione delle porte interne e, attraverso la collegata EN 16034, le caratteristiche di resistenza al fuoco e di controllo del fumo.

Prossima tappa è la DOP (Date of Publication), prevista entro il 31 maggio 2019.

In seguito alla DOP, si dovrà attendere almeno 3 mesi per la pubblicazione nella GUUE (Gazzetta Ufficiale dell’Unione europea), che quindi dovrebbe essere per Agosto 2019.

Due sessioni scadenzeranno la giornata. La prima vedrà l’approfondimento del Codice di Prevenzione Incendi andando a sviscerare tutte le figure della filiera che vi ruotano attorno e concentrando l’attenzione al nuovo approccio metodologico più vicino al progresso tecnologico e più attendo alla comunicazione organica e sistematica.
La seconda sessione sarà incentrata sulle misure antincendio per una corretta  gestione della sicurezza antincendio che

deve tra l’altro prevedere almeno la riduzione della probabilità di insorgenza di un incendio e la riduzione dei suoi effetti, adottando misure di prevenzione incendi, buona pratica nell’esercizio, manutenzione.
