Tips and tricks for garage doors
Your garage is probably much more than just a parking space for your car. It can also be used as a storage room, workshop and/or party space. In these and other contexts, it must often be possible to get in and out quickly and easily.
Whether it is to pick up individual garden tools, try out a newly repaired bicycle tyre, or go to the bathroom during a party, it is usually not very practical to have to open and close the entire garage door. As versatile and advantageous as modern garage doors are, the use of a door is much more practical in these and similar contexts.
Unfortunately, it is not always easy to create such a passageway. Is your garage perhaps too narrow for an additional door, or is its installation difficult in other ways? Then a garage door with a hinged door is the perfect solution.
A garage door with a flap is often the most sensible alternative, especially for garage owners who cannot easily realise the integration of an entrance for people. In addition to the possibility of using a door, there are the following additional advantages. Some of these are actually also of interest to you if a door can be opened in your garage.
Neatintegration: Visually, the door fits very neatly into the garage door.
There is no need for chiselling: Inserting a garage door into a wall creates a lot of dirt. In general, a garage door with a door means naturally less structural work.
Emergency exit: A door in the garage door is a useful emergency exit - even officially.
Garage door with door and window: If your garage has no windows or only small ones, you can compensate for this with matching fields in a garage door and its door.
Comfort: There are garage door systems that have a very flat leading edge, which ensures maximum comfort during use.
Energy cost savings or insulation: On the one hand, an electric garage door naturally needs to be operated less often if there is a door. On the other hand, it keeps heat in the garage in winter and heat out in summer.
There are different types of garage doors with a door. Two variants are particularly popular with built-in passage: the sectional door and the overhead door with door.
Sectionaldoors with a door: If you are looking for a garage door with a door, you will most often come across sectional doors. These doors can be integrated relatively easily and are usually also very practical.
Overhead garage door with door: An overhead garage door with a hinged door is another common option. This is usually the cheapest option for garage doors with a door.
Roller garage door with door: Roller garage doors with a door are rather atypical. The often narrow slats make integration difficult. In some variants, a door is therefore placed next to the roller door, which only has the appearance of slats, but cannot be rolled upwards.
Hinged door with door: Extra integrated doors are generally only a problem with very large hinged doors. With medium-sized doors, one of the leaves simply acts as a door.
Hinged garage doors are also available with windows or at least with transparent sections for the passage of light. With the corresponding option, you have the possibility of letting much more natural light into the garage.
This is always useful. However, if there is not enough space for a door, there will probably be few or no windows. This is why a garage door with a door and window is even more important.
